I'm reminded of Acts 28:5-6 NKJV "But he shook off the creature into the fire and suffered no harm. However, they were expecting that he would swell up or suddenly fall down dead. But after they had looked for a long time and saw no harm come to him, they changed their minds and said that he was a god."
Anyone who saw that car could not believe that I walked out unscathed. There are countless more serious life challenges compared to my car crash. When the bank threatened or actually repossessed your house or car; when your husband/wife served you with papers; when you lost a loved one; when you lost your job; when you were assaulted or maybe even infected with HIV; when you've had the 2nd or even 3rd miscarriage... the list goes on. When any of life's challenges happen to God's children, just know that People are watching and expecting the worst. Sometimes we ourselves are also left without hope and also expect the worst. We even remind ourselves or are reminded of our past sins and convinced that it is "karma".
My prayer for you today is hold on a bit longer. Do not lose hope, put your faith in Christ and like Paul, shake that viper right into the fire, the fire of prayer. They expected Paul to start swelling up and die, that is what they expect from you too. In a short while their minds are going to be changed, very soon, they are going to see God in you. The situation that was supposed to kill you will bring glory to God.
My peace I give you - Shalom
